Theme Schedule From 2011

(Stay tuned for 2012 info!)

The summer has been organized into themes that will enhance learning and peak curiosity.

June 14-June 25: “Me, Myself & Us”

We will kick off the summer with a fun theme of Me, Myself & Us. We will get a chance to share who we are, what we like, and many of our favorite things as we do projects to reflect these ideas. We will focus what makes us all similar while at the same time celebrating differences. We will focus on developing sportsmanship, and learning to be a summer camp team! Our camper will develop there own camp rules.

June 28-July 2: “Party in the USA’

Get warmed up for the 4th of July weekend with watermelon-eating contests, potato sack races, and all sorts of classic patriotic-picnic holiday activities…Pie throwing anyone? Take a ride on the slip and slide and enjoy a week of fun in the sun!

July 5-July 16: “The Nature of Our Planet”

These two weeks will be devoted to as much about the nature of planet earth as we can fit. We will grow plants and learn about photosynthesis.   We will have hands on opportunities to use real telescopes to view the sun. We will build our own mini compost site, improve recycling at our Range Line and bring these and many other great “green” ideas home to share with friends and family.

July 19- July 30: “Road Trip”

How far have you traveled?  These two weeks we will travel across the country, and then the world!  We will get a chance to look at many of the countries and languages of our own campers’ backgrounds.  We will get a chance to discover languages, foods, clothing, and holidays of many other countries.

August 2- August 13 “Arts & Entertainment”

This week we will look at different forms of art. Not just painting, but photography, food, drama, dance, and even movies! Imagine being able to walk away from these two weeks, with your name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

August 16- August 27 “Summerpalooza”

These are the last two weeks of summer. So we are going to pack as much fun into these two weeks before we say good-bye for another year. We will include, back by popular demand our crazy awesome spirit weeks! Also, this years Summerpalooza will include our first ever Summer Program School Age Talent/Variety Show!
